I have been a member of the SCCI for more than 24 months. In my capacity as Managing Director of the TOM group of companies, I have been actively involved in the provision of education for local Indians through the Singapore Indian Development Association and the Singapore Indian Education
Trust. My participation in both organisations boosted the tertiary standards of local Indian students who lack the funds and means to do so. This is a cause extremely close to my heart and one that I still seek to champion. I was also a contributor to the Sree Narayana Mission (SNM). Together with the Board at SNM, I established a platform to train local Indians wanting to further their education in nursing. Upon the completion of their NITEC or Diploma in Nursing, these candidates will be bonded to SNM and trained at their premises. My staff are also deployed to assist in grassroots events at Jurong GRC frequently. They provide assistance during festive occasions and events. Recently our staff donated blood as part of a blood donation exercise at Khoo Teck Phuat Hospital.
