The Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) led a business delegation to Kolkata and Hyderabad from 9 to 13 January 2012. The mission was led by SICCI’s Chairman, Mr R Narayanamohan. West Bengal after an historic election and a thirty year rule by the Left Front government, has a new Chief Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee. In Kolkata, West Bengal, Singapore SMEs learned to tap on the opportunities available in the different sectors in the state. In addition, the delegates also met with senior government officials and members of the business community. This mission explored and identified potential businesses and investment opportunities in the state.
In Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, the delegation attended ‘The Partnership Summit 2012’ organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This annual summit aimed at bringing together business leaders, investors, corporations, thought leaders, policy and opinion makers. The Partnership Summit served as a perfect platform to understand and explore business opportunities in India.
